Yerevan State College of Humanities was founded in 1881.

The overall number of students: 750. 35 % of them studies free of charge.

About College

College possesses: TV center; student musical studio; "Anahit" pedagogical discussion club and "Anahit" historical and cultural club; Armenian, Russian, English and American, French, and German language and cultural clubs; film and audio centers; library; sport hall; computer, language and video cabinets; workshops of fine arts; rug and tapestry making, as well as amateur art activities, two choirs.

The College is a permanent participant and a prize-winner of youth and student competitions of RA. Academicians, Doctor of sciences,professors candidates for science, senior lectues specialists invited from USA, GB, France, collaborate with the College. Foreign language teaching is carried out according to the European standards. Up-to-date teaching methods and equipmental used. The second language is taught. The College makes possible both to learn 3 foreign languages and to continue further education. Students acquire the 2-nd profession as well. Students specialize in several aspects. There is a great demand for our specialists’ skills in the Labour Market.

INTERNATIONAL CONTACTS

The Department of International Tourism works out tourist schedules for the siglists of Armenia and outside it. The sdudents take part in carrying out different of UNESCO programs in Armenia and abroad. The College is in charge of protective work of monuments of Armena. The College is a reliable partner and realires all its programs and obligations.. The College colaborates with the Peace corps /USA/ DAAD /Germany/, DORKAS /Holand/,NATAN /France/, Max Huber Verlag /Germany/. The college is looking for partners in European

countries to make possible for the students practice in hotels, tourist centres, archives, offices and further cooperation. The practice aims at making better the professional and language skills. A six-month practice is preferable.

Yerevan State College of Humanities has 120 -year-old history.

In 1881 it called Czar teachers' seminary

in 1938 - Russian pedagogical college

since 1991 - Yerevan State Humanitarian College.

Admission:

-competition for both free of charge and chargeable education is carrying out only through admission exams;
-entrants who apply before August 5 will participate in the competition of both free of charge and chargeable education;
-admission for chargeable education will be carried out with competition based on results of school graduate certificate: university entrants with excellent certificate will have privileges;
-university entrants who will be out of competition and will not succeed in admission exams of institutions may apply between August 12 and 31.

The status of students, admitted in 2003, will be changed at the end of each year, up to education level (free of charge or chargeable education). Students will have trainings in the most prestigious centers of the spheres. Hostels are being provided to students with accommodation needs.

College alumni with 1, 2, 3, 4, 7 professions study following computer programs: Windows 2000, Word 2000, Excel 2000, Corel Draw 10, Photo Shop 6.0, Internet.

Proposals will be accepted before August 5 of current year. The beginning of entrance examinations will be from August 12:
-admission for all professions will be carried out for entrants with both eight and ten years school education;
-entrants having eight years school education will write a dictation from Armenian language; in college the senior school program they will implement during a year.
